The Italian National Football Team (Azzurri), players and staff, took part on 13th June in a training session on resuscitation in the event of sudden cardiac arrest as part of the Step Up and Save a Life initiative by UEFA and the European Resuscitation Council (ERC), coordinated in Coverciano with a key role from the Italian Resuscitation Council.
The training session on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is part of the activities promoted for the national teams participating in this week's Nations League Finals in the Netherlands, with the aim of raising public awareness of the importance of rapid and effective resuscitation in the event of sudden cardiac arrest, which doubles the chances of survival and could save over 100,000 people suffering from sudden cardiac arrest each year.
